It was in the year 2000 that Karl Ömmer, DI Walter Freimüller and Stefan Bergmair-Russmann decided to found packit! Verpackungen GmbH together with Paul Schäfer.
With their sleeves rolled up and plenty of experience in the industry, they started to produce offset-laminated packaging in a former ammunition factory in Neuzeug, Upper Austria.
The company was soon employing 40 staff, and customers were more than convinced by the packaging solutions offered by packit!. The young company had established itself.
Things got too constricted in 2008 and a new, modern plant with a production area of 6,500 m2 was built in Waldneukirchen. A completely new machine park and a fully automatic high-bay warehouse for a total of 10,000 pallets made the packit! facility one of the most modern packaging plants for offset laminated packaging in Europe. But it was soon bursting at the seams again and in 2014, a second high-bay facility for 11,500 additional pallet spaces was built.
The production capacity followed in 2017 and grew to 12,000 m2.
So much for the history and numbers. But this ultra-modern, automated production facility was made possible by the managing directors Walter Freimüller, Karl Ömmer and the packit! team, who use their expertise, passion and enthusiasm for new ideas to create new packaging and material solutions for their customers on a daily basis. Be it twin secure, new tray constructions, the foodmailer® – many innovations originated at packit! and established themselves as a new standard in the industry.
